We issue Digital Certificates:
We are providing a digital certificate primarily for our students' practice. Our CA (Certification Authority) is the Center for E-Commerce and
Information Systems. To communicate with reasonably guaranteed
authenticity and confidentiality, apply for your certificate.
Before applying for a
certificate, please read the following first. Please click here
to get a digital certificate
free from the Center for ECIS. Enjoy!
- To communicate with the certificate issued by us, you need to retrieve the
CA certificate and install it in your machine. Once you have it, you
are basically saying you trust the certificates issued from this CA.
You can view all the CAs (e.g., Verisign) you trust by going to
Tools/Internet Options/Contents/Certificates/Trusted Root Certification
Authorities on your Internet Explorer browser (Microsoft already included
them on your machine). You can always remove any CA from your system without any side effects.
- After that, request a certificate. You can apply for both web
browser and email. Provide the information about you. Just
choose default options.
- Check on a pending certificate. It may take several days before you
get the certificate approved. Check from time to time. If yours is available, install
it on your machine.
- Remember that this certificate system is using a pair of public and
private keys. Both you and your counterpart should have a certificate
to conduct an encrypted communication.
** * Again, we provide this certificate to help you understand the concept of
security on the Internet. We don't take any responsibility on anything whatsoever.
