Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How to send an encrypted mail using MS Outlook?
A: When you send a new mail, choose Options. In an Options window, you can find "Security" on the upper right corner. Check "encryption" or/and "digital certificate" option. If you want to use encryption or/and digital certificate for all the mails you send (this is not a great idea though.), you can do it by selecting Tools/Options/Security on your main Outlook page.
Q: Can anybody actually read my mails?
A: Absolutely. Your emails are available for legal/illegal interception until you purge them from the email server. However, you never know whether it is really purged or not. If you encrypt it, only you and your counterpart can read them.
Q: What about certificate issuers?
A: I think I told you. Only you and your counterpart can read them. This encryption is done by using a pair of public and private keys. Unless you have them, nobody, including certification authority, can decrypt your message. However, Federal Government would like to have a power to decrypt any encrypted messages.
