E-Commerce Lab

We have established the Lab for CECIS for our students to experiment and implement the concepts they learn in the courses.  Our lab possesses the same types of tools (software and hardware) top companies in industry use so that students can command higher marketability on the job market.  Currently, we have four NT servers and one Unix server operated by CECIS located on the third floor of Pigott Building.  These servers run database management system (Oracle 8i), web servers, application servers and others.  Additionally, we have 4 Development workstations in the adjacent room for software development, research and instructions purposes. The tools we have include the following:

•     Oracle Server release 8i  

•      Microsoft SQL Server

•      Sybase Database Server

•   Database Management Tools:

•    Embarcadero

• Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) Tools: 

•       Sybase: Power-Designer for data modeling and object-oriented modeling

•    Oracle: Oracle Designer for data modeling

•   Web or Client/Server Application Development Tool:

•    Microsoft: Visual Studio, InterDev, Visual Basic, Visual C++, FrontPage and many other development tools (we are part of Microsoft Academic Alliance Program).

•     Sybase: PowerBuilder, EA Studio, Power J and others
