Welcome to our Center for E-Commerce and Information Systems (CECIS):
Entering into the next millennium, we are facing a new set of challenges and opportunities in business. Information systems with communication technologies transform almost everything we know about business and society and furthermore create a dramatically different new environment for private businesses and public organizations. Especially, as the Internet is becoming widely available to the masses, e-commerce on the Internet is on the verge of becoming the most important market activity in the world economy.
Our Mission: Produce Future Leaders in E-Commerce and Information Systems
Here, at Seattle University, we recognize the significance of electronic commerce on the internet and plan to offer the following programs:
Education: Our students in the undergraduate/graduate business programs can choose a major in ECIS (E-Commerce and Information Systems).
Executive Training: We offer various seminars in e-commerce and information systems for corporate executives.
Research: We conduct research on various new issues on e-commerce and publish the results in academic/professional journals.
Our faculty members are composed of experts from various disciplines, including Management, Information Systems, Marketing, International Business, Economics and Law. We are very excited to play a role in helping our students and community move into the next era of the information-based economy.
